Alien Abductions!!! (Pseudoscience Example Post)

Amy Gets Abducted

The girl's claim to have been abducted by aliens in the video is an example of pseudoscience because there was no real evidence which showed that she was indeed abducted. The torn curtain and burnt bush could have both been caused by something other than aliens. It would be absurd to think that aliens were the only ones who could tear curtains and burn bushes. . . . Anyways, aliens abductions, UFOs, and other things of the sort are often categorized as science when they have no real means of a scientific method. The mark on the girl's leg could have been caused by something else as well. There really aren't any legitimate claims in the video. The evidence is weak, and most of the information comes from claims of the witnesses. The fact that the girl was transported 800 kilometers (about 500 miles) in just 3 hours is a claim from the video which is very difficult to support. This transportation is very difficult to explain, considering the girl moved from town to town in the middle of the night without a car. However, questions concerning this claim later arise when the police are said to be investigating reports of Amy being seen in Mackay before the alleged abduction. This would then mean to say that Amy is lying along with her husband and friend, and it is clear that the whole situation is a hoax. People could potentially fall for this claim by simply trusting Amy and the other eyewitnesses. The fact that they claim to have not been drinking or taking drugs, adds to the reliability factor of the witnesses. The three witnesses seem to be pretty stable individuals after watching the interviews, even though their claims are somewhat outlandish.
